Wednesday, 21 August 2013: The centre-right is off to a good start! In today’s New Zealand Herald the Electoral Officer duly declared Dick Quax, Sharon Stewart and myself elected members of Auckland Council’s Governing Body. The three of us were unopposed.
Wednesday, 21 August: The campaign continues! Here I am with radio announcers Bev Chuang and her colleague Neil after an hour-long interview on 104.2FM this morning, with was a lot of fun. The Penrose-based station is aimed at Asian Aucklanders but gets a good following regionwide. Rest assured, I took the opportunity to plug a few friendly candidates locally and regionally.
Tuesday, 20 August: Tonight I spoke at the Tamaki Drive Protection Society AGM at the Royal Akarana Yacht Club.
Monday, 19 August: This morning I was out meeting the good businesspeople of Newmarket this morning with Waitemata & Gulf ward councillor candidate Greg Moyle.
Sunday, 18 August: We were treated to a lovely morning tea with the Corners out in Glendowie today. Former Newmarket businessman, Peter Corner, is again my authoriser of all my election material. With no direct opposition and my re-election imminent, the tone will change somewhat but nonetheless we remain committed to getting my mug and some key messages out. Any complaints ring Peter!
Saturday, 17 August: The Weekend Herald declares me the winner in the seat of Orakei.
